Jerome was born in June 1971 in Delmas of Port of Prince. After attending school up to the 9th grade, Alain became a mason, building houses for a living. Apparently a friend encouraged him to paint after seeing his drawings. He started to paint and learned about color from Roi David Annisey in 1993, but is considered a true "naïve" painter, constantly experimenting with perspective.
Although he has painted numerous voodoo scenes, he prefers the imaginary family he has created and "documented" inside their interior settings. He explores with subtle humor, the various emotions capable within domestic relationships.
Jerome has been a Haitian Art Company favorite for
years.
