Fritzner Alphonse studied under the
direction of Arijac and Nehemy Jean and has been painting
since 1970. Alphonse is a serious artist with excellant technical skills in
both brush and palette knife applications. His preferred subjects are women
and landscapes. The peace and composure of his female subjects seem to emanate
from a wellspring of calm that is both reassuring and eerily seductive. At the
same time, Alphonse is a deeply
religious man and even leads a bible study
class in his village.
