Gabriel Bien-Aime was born in Croix-des-Bouquets,
Haiti, in 1951, and apprenticed with Janvier Louisjuste at the age of 20. Today,
Bien-Aime is recognized as the premier metal artist of his generation. In 2004,
his work was featured in Lespri Endependan: Discovering Haitian
Sculpture, (2004) at the Frost Museum of Florida International University.
Most of Bien-Aime's work in our gallery dates from 1982-1994, a prolific time
during which he was living full-time in Croix-des-Bouquets.
Haitian Art Co. is open 10am-6pm (eastern standard time) 7 days a week.
